Dr. Imran Shah (Chairman, OPEN New York)
Managing Partner, Interactive Broadband Consulting


Imran, a co-founder of IBB Consulting Group, is responsible for IBB’s strategy and vision, major client relationships and leading key engagements. Previously, Imran has held senior consulting and industry positions in leading companies including Xavor, PA Consulting Group and Philips Electronics. As the President of Xavor, Imran led the company to record growth and profitability, significantly expanding the company’s client base. As a Partner in the Telecommunications practice of PA Consulting Group, a management and technology consultancy, Imran launched the Interactive Media Group and led it to become the most profitable and largest revenue-producing group in the practice.

An acclaimed specialist and thought leader in convergence strategies and technology, Imran has been involved in many of the most significant projects in the industry. He has worked with senior management teams in a variety of leading broadband and media companies, including: AT&T, Comcast, Cox, Microsoft, Telenor, TeleDenmark, UPC and Cable & Wireless.

Imran, who has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University, has led various industry bodies in the standardization of digital media compression, distribution and storage. He personally holds 13 patents and has been published numerous times.


Shahid Khan (President, OPEN New York)
Partner, Interactive Broadband Consulting Group, LLC


Shahid Khan is a Partner at Interactive Broadband Consulting Group (IBB), LLC, a consulting firm advising top management in the broadband-related sectors of cable, mobile, technology and digital media. In this role, Shahid Khan is responsible for leading major client engagements, particularly in the Content space, and for the firm's Thought Leadership and PR activities.

Prior to joining IBB, Shahid was a Managing Director at BearingPoint (formerly KPMG Consulting) in the Media & Entertainment Industry Practice, responsible for leading BearingPoint’s client relationships and engagements in the Entertainment and Information Services industry segments. Previously, Shahid was a Client Services Partner at IBM Global Services (IGS), where he led the activities of the various arms of IGS focusing on East Coast based Publishing and Entertainment clients.

Shahid is an acclaimed thought leader, who has been focused on the Digital Media and eBusiness for more than a decade, as well as on how disruptive technologies such as internet, broadband, IP and mobile are impacting the Media Industry. Over the course of his career, Shahid has served leading Media firms including Bertelsmann, Sony BMG, Warner Music Group, Thomson, Viacom and the RIAA.

Shahid holds an MBA in Marketing and Finance from NYU’s Stern School of Business and is a Fellow at U. Penn’s Wharton School of Business. He has published numerous white-papers and articles on topics pertinent to the Media & Telecoms Industry. He is a frequent speaker at leading industry conferences, often quoted in industry publications. Shahid serves on the Board of two technology firms in the mobile and enterprise software space, as well as non-profit organizations that focus on literacy and entrepreneurship.


Salman Amin
Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Frito-Lay International


Salman Amin is currently Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Frito-Lay International -- the $8bn international foods subsidiary of PepsiCo, Inc. In this capacity, he is responsible for business growth strategy, global brand positioning, platforms and advertising, as well as, consumer insights. He has also served as Senior Vice President for New Business Development at PepsiCo, Inc., President of Quaker Foods Asia & Vice President of Marketing for Pepsi-Cola International.

Prior to joining PepsiCo in 1995, Salman worked at Procter & Gamble for 10 years in positions of increasing responsibility. At P&G he managed businesses in the Middle East, Germany, the U.S. and Asia Pacific.

Salman also serves on the Board of the U.S.-Pakistan Business Council as well as the Kellogg Advisory Board at Northwestern University. He holds a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.


Adnan Durrani
President, Condor Ventures


Mr. Durrani is President of Condor Ventures, Inc—a private venture firm that invests in and provides strategic consulting services for technology as well as consumer product companies. Mr. Durrani is also a Venture Partner of Blue Chip Venture Co, with over $700 Million in managed funds, and currently heads up Blue Chip’s Stamford, CT office. Mr. Durrani has been directly involved in over $400 Million in equity financing during his 20 year tenure in the investment industry. In the mid-1980s, Mr. Durrani was a Senior Vice President at Lehman Brothers and a Senior Vice President of Oppenheimer & Co. Mr. Durrani started his investment career originally at E.F. Hutton & co., Inc. in 1982.
In addition to his career in the financial arena, Mr. Durrani is a serial entrepreneur. He was the founder of Vermont Pure Holdings, which he led to an IPO (Amex, VPS) and which now is the number two ranked bottled water company in northeast with over $75 Million in sales and $15 Million in operating earnings. He was also a founding partner of Stonyfield Farms, Inc, a leading natural and organic yogurt brand also with over $75 Million in sales, whose private sale he recently led to Dannone, SA.

Mr. Durrani is also a Director or equity partner of Telephotonics, High Speed Video, Everest Corporation, Next Generation Technologies Holdings, Inc., Royal Beverage, Ltd. He further serves on the Board of Trustees of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra and the Finance Board of Social Venture Network (SVN), which promotes minority and women led enterprises as well as sound environmental business practices. Mr. Durrani has also been a lecturer and panel member for SVN and the Business for Social Responsibility (BSR) as well as the Natural Business Investment Conference in Berkeley, California. Mr. Durrani received an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Columbia University as well as attending the Columbia Graduate School of Business Administration.


Fazle Hussain
Managing Member, Morgan Stanley Venture Partners


Fazle Husain is a Managing Member of Morgan Stanley Venture Partners, L.P. (MSVP), a private partnership affiliated with Morgan Stanley. MSVP is a later stage venture capital fund, investing primarily in companies in the healthcare and information technology sectors. Mr. Husain has been at Morgan Stanley since 1987, and since 1991 has focused on investing in healthcare and software companies. His investments include Allscripts, Inc. (MDRX), Healhstream (HSTM), Cross Country (CCRN), The Medicines Company (MDCO), Medsite.com, Network International, and Peopleclick.

Mr. Husain received an ScB in Chemical Engineering from Brown University, and an MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.


Omar Javaid
Senior Director, Qualcomm


Omar is currently a Senior Director in Qualcomm’s Wireless Business Solutions group, where he is responsible for providing the vision and direction to the group, as well as its clients. Prior to this, Omar founded and ran Mobilocity, a consulting company that focused on the emerging mobile and wireless industry, which was eventually sold to Qualcomm.
Prior to Mobilocity, he was a Management Consultant with Deloitte Consulting in their Management Solutions & Services Group. Prior to that, he was a Project Manager at Advanced Publications, a division of Condé Nast, and a Technical Director at Interzine Publications. Omar also served as founder and CEO of Innovative World Wide Web Design.

He holds BS degrees in Chemistry and Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Michigan.


M. Mobeen Khan
CEO & Founder, Inzigo


Founder and CEO of inzigo, a natural language speech applications and solutions provider to enterprise call center and telecom markets. He was previously with telecom and e-commerce practice of Mitchell Madison Group, a strategy consulting firm. Prior to that he was part of the initial management team at LinkShare Corporation, an e-commerce affiliate programs venture in New York. Prior to working at LinkShare, Mobeen worked at BellSouth on technical and product management and strategic planning. He was responsible for bringing innovative services and devices like the interactive two-way pager and Palm VII wireless PDA from concept to market.

Mobeen holds an MBA from Columbia University in Finance and Management, an MS in Communications Engineering, and BS Honors in Computer Engineering with minor in Economics from Rutgers University. Mobeen is a member of IEEE and World Future Society. He serves on the advisory board of VentureChest, a technology incubator in Pakistan.


Raana Imtiaz Khan
Managing Partner, Meyers Associates


Imtiaz Khan is a Managing Partner at Meyers Associates, a boutique Private Equity and Brokerage firm. At Roan Meyers, Imtiaz focuses on Corporate Finance and Private Equity transactions in the Technology sector. Before joining Roan Meyers, Imtiaz worked at Merrill Lynch in the investment banking division. Prior to his foray in the world of finance, Imtiaz launched and ran a construction management firm, where he led a number of successful commercial projects.

Imtiaz holds a BE in Electrical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan and an MBA in Finance from New York University's Stern School of Business.


Yawar Shah
Executive Vice President, JP Morgan Chase


Yawar Shah is the Channels and Operations executive for the Chase Regional Bank. In this capacity he is responsible for the Telephone, Internet, and ATM channels as well as service and operations for the consumer, affluent and small business segments.
Prior to that, he was the E-business executive for all the Consumer Financial Services businesses, including both chase.com and customer e-enhancement. Before that role he was the Chief Operating Officer of the Global Private Bank. In that capacity, he was responsible for the Product Management, Finance, MIS, Risk Management, Business Management, Service, Operations & Technology functions for Chase’s Global Private Bank.

In Mr. Shah’s previous assignments, he was responsible for strategic initiatives across the range of the Global Bank businesses on behalf of the Vice Chairman. Other assignments included the General Manager of the Global Treasury Management Services Business with line P&L responsibility for $400 million in revenues and 2,000 people. He has served as Chief Administrative Officer for Geoserve, responsible for the marketing, finance, strategy and human resource functions for the transaction services businesses (Cash Management, Funds Transfer, Custody, Corporate Trust, Banklink).
Before joining Chemical Bank in 1987, Mr. Shah spent several years at Booz, Allen & Hamilton as manager in their New York financial services practice.

Mr. Shah received his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and his B.A., Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude, in Economics from Harvard College. He is the United States Director and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of S.W.I.F.T. He serves on the White Plains Hospital Board.
